While a bilingual classroom teacher, our founder struggled to find Spanish books that engaged her students and incited their joy of reading and learning . When she moved into an instructional leader role she was determined to find such books. She quickly discovered the United States had little to offer. She reached out to her global community and discovered that there was a plethora of Spanish literature! In order to ensure that this literature fit with the United States culture she works with the experts - teachers! Books del Sur’s Educator Community consists of moree than 30 teachers from across the United States that are paired with another teacher to curate books for grade level appropriate classrooms.
