Author Interview / Entrevista con Autor: GARY RAMOS

¿Dónde naciste?

Nací en Caracas, Venezuela, pero me crie en la Isla de Margarita, una hermosa isla que tiene un clima tropical todo el año.

 ¿Dónde vives?

Vivo en Santiago de Chile desde el 2015.

 ¿Quién es tu autor favorito?

Para mi Lewis Carroll, autor de Alicia en el país de las maravillas, ya que fue un escritor muy adelantado en su época y con una imaginación inigualable.

 ¿Cuál es tu libro favorito?

Además de Alicia en el país de las maravillas, me encantó Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal, por ser un libro que cambió la vida de muchos niños y adultos en los últimos años.

 ¿Cuál es el libro que más te ha gustado escribir?

Hasta el momento solo he escrito Beto y Bella llegan a Chile y me encantó hacerlo no solo por el tema que trata, que me toca muy de cerca, sino también por la creatividad que hay que ejercitar para crear este un libro.

 ¿En qué te inspiras al escribir? ¿Por qué elegiste la carrera de escritor(a)?

Para este libro me inspiré tanto en mi propia historia como migrante como en la de muchos amigos y conocidos que llegaron a este país.

Quise escribir este libro para que en un futuro tengamos una sociedad más fraterna con los que llegamos de otros países.

 ¿Porque escribes para niños?

Pienso que para hacer un cambio en la sociedad debemos partir desde pequeños y sembrando una semilla de fraternidad y de sana convivencia a través de un libro ilustrado es una excelente manera.

 ¿Qué consejos tienes para niños y niñas que leen tus libros?

Que con cada libro que lean podrán dejar volar su imaginación y entrar en diversos mundos que antes desconocían. Después los libros les abrirán las puertas a muchas otras cosas.

Where were you born?

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, but I grew up on the island of Margarita, a beautiful island that has a tropical climate all year.

Where do you live?

I live in Santiago de Chile and have lived here since 2015.

 Who is your favorite author?

Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, he was a very advanced writer for his time and with an unmatched imagination.

 What is your favorite book?

Besides Alice in Wonderland, I loved Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, because it was a book that changed the lives of many children and adults in recent years.

 Which is the book that you liked the most?

So far, I've only written Beto and Bella Arrive in Chile and I loved doing it not only because of the topic it deals with, which touches me very closely but also because of the creativity that must be exercised to compose the book.

 What inspires you to write? Why did you choose a career as a writer?

For this book, I was inspired as much in my own history as a migrant like that of many friends and acquaintances who came to this country. I wanted to write this book so that in the future we will have a more fraternal society with those who came from other countries.

 Why do you write for children?

I think that to make a change in society we must start from small and sow a seed of fraternity and healthy coexistence through an illustrated book is an excellent way.

 What advice do you have for boys and girls who read your books?

That with each book they read they can let their imagination fly and enter different worlds that they did not know before. Then the books will open the doors to many other things.
