After their magical journeys through Cusco and Kuelap, Catalina and Sofia travel with their family and Aunt Daisy to northern Peru. They will discover more about their missions as "apprentice guardians'' and initiate lessons with other apprentices from various countries on this journey. In addition, they will have an unforgettable encounter with The Lady of Cao, who will appear to guide them with the ancestral wisdom of ancient Peru. The Lady of Cao was a mighty woman from ancient Peru. She belonged to the political and religious elite of the Mochica culture, inhabitants of the northern coast of Peru. She may even have been considered a demi-goddess: Tattooed images of spiders, snakes, geometrical figures, and animals such as the jaguar covered her forearms, hands, and feet. Moreover, the discovery of her tomb in 2005 by archaeologist Régulo Franco broke with the notion that only men had ruled ancient Peru.
