La Mariposa
Francisco, hijo de una familia de trabajadores migrantes mexicanos, está tratando de adaptarse al primer grado en los Estados Unidos, pero se siente aislado porque no habla inglés, se viste de manera diferente a los otros niños y no está familiarizado con sus costumbres. Fascinado por una oruga que su maestro guarda en un frasco, Francisco fantasea con volar como una mariposa, pero finalmente aprende a encajar.
Francisco--the son of a Mexican migrant worker family--is trying to adjust to first grade in the U.S., but feels isolated because he doesn't speak English, dresses differently from the other children, and is unfamiliar with their customs. Fascinated by a caterpillar his teacher keeps in a jar, Francisco fantasizes about flying away like a butterfly, but eventually learns to fit in.
