El corazon de la selva
After the strange disappearance of his grandmother, José and his father embark on a trip to a university observatory in the Amazon just as the jungle is being devastated by terrible fires. Based on the legends and stories told by the Amazonian indigenous people themselves, The Heart of the Jungle is a novel full of adventure, fantasy and mystery where the author pays homage to "mother" nature and vindicates the elderly as human beings full of wisdom. The text, which has seven beautiful illustrations made by the Ecuadorian Verónica López Yánez (who lived with the author in the Amazonian part of Ecuador), also aims to be an invitation to learn about the anthropological and cultural richness of the indigenous communities that inhabit the "lung" of the planet.
