As a child, Aureliano Buenasnotas was taken by his father to Prado Verde so that he could see the rain for the first time, an event that the little boy would never forget, because his town had never rained. The impact was such that Aureliano, who dreamed of being an inventor, promised that the first machine he created would be one designed to make it rain. Many years later, Aureliano returns from the Big City as an inventor and finds that his town is about to be displaced to another place, because the little underground water that allowed him to subsist is running out; then, Aureliano decides to start creating the rain-generating machine immediately. But he will have to face the powerful, who are not interested in him raining. He will only find help in a group of brave children.
